Meet the Team
Meet our leadership team and learn more about our passion for education and the Carvela Leadership School!
Owner & Mentor
Curtis McFall (He/him)
Curtis has a passion and excitement for education and a feeling of responsibility toward the traditions of Project Foxwood. After graduating from Michigan Technological University in 2002, he has worked at several camps, in various positions and began his tenure with Lookout, Crystalaire, and Carvela in 2010.
By empowering students and instructors he hopes to provide an atmosphere where children can enjoy the outdoors while experiencing quality education in a supportive and engaging community.
Education Liaison
Lisa Schlumbohm (She/her)
Lisa began her journey with Project Foxwood in 2013 as a counselor for Camp Lookout. After graduating from Bowling Green State University, Lisa went on to work as a Youth Development leader at various non-profits in Northwest Ohio. Then, she re-joined the Project Foxwood team as a Director for CLS and Camp Carvela.
Lisa’s favorite times in our programs are the “in-between” and unstructured times — the moments that provide space to encourage a child’s imagination and to see the world through their eyes.
Director of Operations
Morgan Hassall (He/him)
Morgan is from Somerset, England, and started working for Project Foxwood in 2013. Starting out as the Sailing Instructor then moving onto Waterfront Director and then Program Director.
His passion lies with creating an environment where he can push students and staff ideas of what is possible within the boundries of our program. Within this collaborative space they can work & play together to make truly unique activities.
Educator/Head Counselor
Lil Anderson (They/them)
Lil received their Bachelor's degree from Denison University in 2021. In 2022, they joined the Project Foxwood team as a Director of Crystalaire Adventures and CLS. They are passionate about serving our community in a safe and unplugged space outside of the classroom.
They look forward to helping students pursue their own passions through the independent projects and alternative learning program model.
Director of Student Life
Macayla Hassall (She/her)
Macayla (Mac) is from Queensland, Australia, and started working for Project Foxwood in 2012. Since then, she has worked many roles at our residential camp programs, from counsellor to Art Director to her current Director role. She became a director in 2018, and helped open Camp Carvela.
Mac has a passion for people, and loves managing a staff of youth-inspirers and magic-creators. She is excited to bring the same free-spirited energy to the CLS community.
Office Manager
Lauren Steed (She/her)
Lauren joined the Project Foxwood team in early 2021 with a background in administrative healthcare.
She loves connecting with new parents and participants and helping families decide what experience best suits their child's interests and needs. Lauren was drawn to our program due to the inclusive environment and non competitive atmosphere that allows everyone to express and exist as themselves in an authentic, genuine and safe way.
Lauren has experienced such a fulfilling and warm introduction to the camp world, and she is so excited to continue learning and growing.
